Find Your Shine September Week 1 + Intro!

It’s week one of my very first Find Your Shine Movement!

“Find Your Shine” – this phrase really means a lot to me. I have been in a place where I wasn’t aware of the shine inside of me. I finally found it, and now want to share how we can all find it in ourselves to shine when we may feel dull.

Shine: To give forth or glow with light, to appear brightly or strong, to appear with brightness or clearness

^^^ I like to keep this definition on every page of this site as a reminder that we are capable of finding this within ourselves!

So, this month I will be posting a little exercise up on the blog every single Sunday. It will be something fun and motivating for us to stay positive through out the week. Something we can do to help motivate us to find the shine in ourselves, and in every day, be it good or bad!

Here is how it will work: I’ll put up a post on the blog every Sunday this month of the weekly exercise, and then a mini post on my Instagram @ashyogashine as I participate each Sunday! I will be using the hashtag #ashyogashine if you want to check in, or go look at what I am up to!

I’m a newbie, an aspiring yogi, and a dream chaser (like I always say). But I'm putting fear of judgments aside, because my whole love and meaning for all of this is to inspire. I get asked so often by my close friends and family how I keep my motivation, how I keep positive in some situations. Well, that is why I am starting this Find Your Shine movement!

This is my first month. This is new to me! Maybe next month I will switch it up, I don’t know yet what the future is going to bring! All I know is that this is going to be a fun month filled with shine, and I can’t wait to share it with whoever wants to join me!

So lift your arms up, hands & gaze to the sky, palms together and get ready to shine!!

September Week 1 – Find Your Shine

It’s list time! I’m a list maker. I can list the crap out of anything, and I enjoy doing it!

This week’s exercise to find your shine is to make a list of things that you live for and love.

Exercise: What do you live for? We all have love for things like our families, our jobs, and our hobbies. But search a little deeper.

Do you ever find yourself in a situation when you are just so happy, you feel that cushy, cozy feeling? You just feel a release and think “This is what I live and work so hard for, is moments like these.”?

It can be a certain vacation spot, a certain activity or book. It can be something as simple as doing what I’m doing right now – Sitting in the Barnes and Noble Cafe, the smell of coffee around me, the panoramic scenery of books, and all of the beautiful people around me, catching up through whispers over some tea, or working on their school work. This makes me happy, and it inspires me. It reminds me that there is more to life than getting caught up in the stress that life can bring through work, or school, or any kind of negative energy that finds us.

Think about that cushy, cozy, happy feeling as you make your list. You don’t have to go into detail in explainations to anyone if you don't want to, but making a list to remind yourself of what you are living for, and reminding yourself of the moments you have that make you feel totally blissed out, is what makes a day, a week, even a month, so much brighter!

Live It This Week: As you start this week, and you find stress creeping in, just remind yourself of your Cozy List! It will remind you of the important things in life, and it will help you look at a negative situation as just a moment that you’re passing and waving good-bye to as you go to your next moment =)
