Yoga for Shoulders

Chatturangas, Handstands, Arm balances, Pushups, Side Plank, even some Backbends...it seems like a lot of yoga classes (and poses) these days are excessively focused on strengthening shoulders! These poses are a lot of fun! They not only build physical strength; They also help deepen a practice of mental stamina. But, in yoga & life, one of the most important things you can practice is the balance between everything. The yin & yang; The strengthening & releasing. Along with these fun & strengthening poses we are also faces with excessive rounding in our shoulders each day with computers, driving, and maybe even our normal every day posture.

Here are some poses to help counter the rounding and introduce some more openness to your body & mind.
